Originally from Owensboro, KY, Elliott Law ventured down to Western Kentucky University to earn a bachelor’s degree in biology. During his time at WKU, Law worked part-time in the after-school program for a year and a half. After receiving his bachelor’s degree, Law finished his education at the University of Louisville, gaining his master’s degree in business.
Over the year and a half, Law was with Community Education, he was an assistant supervisor and later site supervisor for after-school programs. Law states that his time spent in the programs helped prepare him in areas for the rest of his career.
“[Community Education] helped me multitask school and work and ensured that I prioritized my time properly.” And while he would “face challenges during snack-time getting the kids’ attention,” when asked what he was proudest of accomplishing while in his positions, Law responded, “being a role model for many of the kids.”
Though Law had to move on from the after-school programs to pursue his career, he is still involved with Community Education through the enrichment program. Since becoming a Medicare Sales Representative for Humana in 2018, Law has offered Medicare classes to the community almost monthly through the program.
Law continues to live in Bowling Green with his wife, Cassidy, and their two cats.
