My name is Brandon DeWitt. I am from Scottsville, KY, where I reside with my beautiful wife, Holly, and our two beautiful daughters, Emerson and Chandler.
I graduated from WKU with my middle-grade education degree in social studies and language arts. I then got my Master’s Degree in Special Education and now teach Special Education at the Allen County Intermediate Center. I am also a boys’ assistant basketball coach at Allen County Scottsville High School.
Before Community Education, I volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters in high school. I had known I wanted to be a teacher and coach all through school because that is what my mom and dad were.
I began working for Community Education at Warren Elementary in the fall of 2005. From 2005 to 2009, I worked at Alvaton Elementary, Potter Gray Elementary, and Lost River Elementary before my time was up. I also worked the Super Summer Club program every year I was there.
My proudest accomplishments while working at Community Ed were the relationships I was able to form with the students there. I knew my ability to develop positive relationships with students would impact my future career as an educator.
