Starbucks Foundation’s Neighborhood Grant Recipient

On Tuesday, July 6, at Starbucks, Scottsville Road, Maria Jones, along with the other community managers, Paul and Courtney, presented Neighborhood Grants to local non-profits. To say we were excited to be a recipient and to receive a $1,000 grant would be an understatement. A total of $12,000 in grants was awarded to our Bowling Green-Warren County community.

The other recipients included BRASS INC., Down Syndrome of South Central Kentucky, Habitat for Humanity, Hope Harbor, and HOTEL INC.

In 2020, Teen Angel of BG-WC was the recipient of a $5,000 grant.

More about the Neighborhood Grants:

The Starbucks Foundation’s Neighborhood Grants program supports grassroots, community-led nonprofit organizations through catalytic investments in the form of small grants that range from $1,000 to $10,000. Through this unique program, The Starbucks Foundation invites Starbucks partners to nominate a local organization in their community. Neighborhood Grants also help build sustained local impact and inspire increased partner (employee) engagement with nonprofits organizations that work in our communities.

According to their website, “The Starbucks Foundation supports a wide range of causes through nonprofit investments, which include causes that Starbucks partners are passionate about addressing in their communities… Since 2019, thousands of Starbucks partners have nominated thousands of organizations across the U.S. and Canada, with more than 2,500 organizations receiving a grant, amounting to more than $5 million.”
