From the little town of Battletown, KY, Ashley Melloy grew her love for working with school-age children during college. While a student at WKU, Melloy majored in Psychology, graduated Summa Cum Laude, and became a Specialist in Education/School Psychology in 2012. Over the years, she has worked at Simpson County Schools, Hardin County Schools, and Meade County Schools as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist
Before Community Education, Melloy babysat and worked at a golf course. In 2007 Community Education was fortunate to have her come aboard as a group leader and site supervisor at an after-school program and the previously known Super Summer Club program until 2009.
According to Melloy, “Working at Community Education prepared me for my career because I was able to discover my love for working with school-aged children. I also had the opportunity to become a supervisor, which prepared me with leadership skills and organizational skills. It also prepared me to be a team player with coworkers and build relationships with students and parents. I loved my time with Community Education, and it was the perfect job for me while attending college. I don’t recall facing any challenges during my time at Community Education.”
Melloy and her husband, Kyle, love to spend time with their three-year-old son, Grant, and dog, Fin. They enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, and boating on the lake.
