Community Education is pleased to invite you and your children to participate in our Spell-A-Bration 2010 Art Competition, sponsored by U.S. Bank. This contest will be held in conjunction with Spell-A-Bration, our adult spelling bee. It is held annually to support our efforts in the areas of education, volunteerism, childcare, and community collaboration.

In an effort to tie it in with our mission of lifelong education, we are hosting a poster contest for children grades 3-12, and a separate art contest for children grades K-2. Prizes will be offered for winners in 4 age/grade divisions. The theme of the show this year is literacy. This year, rather than have one single slogan for participants to work with, a list of slogans is attached. Students may choose one of these slogans to incorporate into their design. A rubric provided to aid entrants when meeting guidelines for the poster design. This may be adapted for K-2 teachers when helping students design entries for the art contest. (It will not be as strict at the lower grade level.)

Please note that winning designs will receive gift baskets and other prizes. Winning poster designs will receive US Savings Bonds from U.S. Bank. The winning designs will also be displayed in a variety of locations, on a rotating schedule, for the remainder of the school year.
